Today’s theme in the Never-ending Pile challenge is drugstore. I take that to mean polishes I can get from Boots or Superdrug, so: Barry M, Rimmel, Maybelline, L’Oréal, Revlon, MUA, Sinful Colors, NYC, 2True, etc.
I chose L’Oréal, as I have tons of them, and I’ve gone for a design I’ve had in my mind for a long time now: a look I’m terming gradient stripes. Basically, it works the same way as for a gradient, but you place the colours apart from each other, with white in between, instead of merging the colours together.
I got the most blur on the index fingernail, and I like that the best. I should have taken a bit more time to get the others right too, but at arm’s length, the blurred look is equal for all fingers and it makes a striking manicure.
L’Oréal Maui Wave is the darker of the two polishes, and Paris Avenues is the lighter, blue-grey colour.
For this manicure I’ve used:
- Base colour: one coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White
- Gradient colours: L’Oréal Color Riche Maui Wave and L’Oréal Color Riche Paris Avenues
- Top coat: Glisten & Glow HK Girl
